Medicare Advantage (also called Part C) is an all-in-one plan that includes your hospital insurance (Part A), medical insurance (Part B), and usually prescription drug coverage (Part D). Think of it as a bundled package that often costs less than buying everything separately.
It depends on the plan you choose. Many Medicare Advantage plans have a network of doctors, and your current doctor may already be in that network. We always check your doctor list first before recommending any plan. If keeping your doctor is important to you, we will make sure that is our top priority. Original Medicare lets you see any doctor who accepts Medicare, no matter which plan you have.
Costs vary based on your needs. Some Medicare Advantage plans have $0 monthly premiums. Your main costs are usually your monthly premium, any deductibles, copays when you visit the doctor, and prescription costs. We help you add up all these numbers so there are no surprises. You can first sign up for Medicare during your Initial Enrollment Period, which starts 3 months before you turn 65 and ends 3 months after. After that, you can make changes each year during the Annual Enrollment Period from October 15 to December 7. There are also Special Enrollment Periods if you move, lose other coverage, or have certain life changes. We help you figure out exactly when you can enroll.
That is exactly why it is smart to compare plans. Every Medicare plan covers medications differently, and the same prescription can cost very different amounts depending on your plan. We ask you to bring a list of all your medications, and we check how each plan covers them. This one step can save you hundreds or even thousands of dollars a year.
No. You can switch Medicare Advantage plans once a year during the Annual Enrollment Period (October 15 to December 7) with no penalties.
